Full Time
We can have no excuses today
Our Lads were not at their usual best, but all credit to Kericho FC who are a very polished unit, and it’s not surprising that they are known as the “Kings of Kericho County”
In the first half we made a slow start and Kericho scored after 12mins. (0-1)
But we then got into the game and started to take control.
After 20mins PHILO received the ball down the left, passed one defender and shot, which was blocked by a deliberate handball from a Kericho defender.
PHILO stepped up himself to calmly put the ball to the keepers right. (1-1)
After that Dante hit the post and Capt Jose scored with a beautiful header, but it was ruled out for a marginal offside.
In the second half Kericho were bossing the game, but not causing any serious problems to our keeper, and most of the play was in the midfield area, until the 64th minute, when Kericho got a free kick on the angle of our 18yd box,
Their player shot straight for goal and it didn’t seem to be a problem until the ball took a bad bounce just before Marley in our goal and changed direction on a divot, for Kericho to go 1-2 into the lead.
After this point Kericho players were very cute and were timewasting at every opportunity, but that is no excuse for our Lads, as we were unable to breakdown a very well organised Kericho defense.
We live to fight another day
