FKF rules state that all games must have an ambulance present at a game, for the game to proceed.

Even though our ambulance was arranged and only 2 mins our pitch, it was obviously diverted to attend the major road incident, along with every other available ambulance in our region, just 17mins before the due kick-off time.

We tried every available avenue, even private ambulances to attend our game, but obviously saving lives was the major priority, but we were successful to get 2 professional medics to come to our pitch with all the required medical equipement required by the FKF except the actual ambulance, but they did arrive in a large vehicle to transport any injured players to hospital if required. But regardless of the situation SIGALAGALA still refused to play the game unless a fully equipped ambulance was present.

So we contacted Kinangop Hospital some 45kms away, who agreed to avail an ambulance immediately but it would take maybe 30-40mins to reach the pitch, So our team manager was just about to make the payment to the hospital for that ambulance, when SIGALAGALA said they were not prepared to wait any longer, and were departing the pitch, claiming that they would get a walkover victory even though the match officials had not called off the game, due to the sombre circumstances.

This left both our club and the match officials in a situation where no game was played

We have now presented our case appeal to the FKF office to reach their decision.

At the end of the day, lives are the most precious things, and sportsmanship in football in such circumstances should come first.

SO THIS GAME WENT TO THE LEAGUES COMMITTEE TO DECIDE THE OUTCOME, AND WE WERE DISGUSTED THAT UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES THAT SIGALAGALA WERE AWARDED A 2-0 VICTORY.
