Sunderland AFC Naivasha 3-0 ST JOSEPHS FC.

What an amazing display from the lads as we completely dominated today’s NAKURU County Derby, and could easily have won by 7 or 8, as we created chance after chance.

From the very first minute the lads went straight onto the offensive, closing down St Joseph’s defenders and running their hearts out.

We had to wait until the 16th minute for our opening goal, when CAPT JOSE picked up the ball inside the opponents box, spun his defender and blasted the ball into the back of the net.

Some how there were no more goals in the 1st half, after we played almost the whole half in ST JOSEPHS half of the pitch, but near misses and some good saves by their keeper, meant it ended 1-0.

At half time Coach IMMOH stressed how we must keep up the high tempo and press, and be more composed in front of goal.

So the 2nd half kicked off and we only had 8 mins to wait, when midfield master JOHAH picked up a poor clearance from ST JOSEPHS defence, he brought the ball down with his 1st touch then hit it on the half volley and it smashed into the top corner (2-0) 53mins.

Straight from the restart we won possession back and our winger floated in a beautiful cross which CAPT JOSE met with a towering header to power it past their keeper (3-0) 54mins.

By now the lads still seemed to be full of running, and totally all over ST JOSEPHS, and how CAPT JOSE never got his hat trick is a mystery, but their keeper pulled off some spectacular saves.

With 20 mins left PHILO picked up an injury and was replaced by DICKENS, then in the remaining 15 mins we brought on 4 of our young lads who were promoted to the 1st team squad this season, as they continue their progression.

Each and every player played their part today, and stuck to the game plan, each 1 giving 110%.

It was so hard to choose todays man of the match, but it was jointly awarded to CAPT JOSE and JONAH not only for their goals, but also for their overall display.
